Chapter twenty one- Saige I sat in my seat on the plane. A woman, who I had been instructed to call Mrs. Mayson, sat next to me, tightly gripping the arm of her chair. She was very nervous about flying, I assumed. I was very bored. I pulled my sketchbook out of my bag, and started to draw. My hand flew over the page, doodling something I didn't see. I didn't see it because I was staring out the window. When were we going to get there? I watched as the dark clouds slipped underneath the plane in the dark night sky. I saw the glow of the moon, and a sprinkling of twinkling stars. I saw the flashing lights of another plane. I heard Mrs. Mayson snore. Then I looked back at my paper, and gasped. Dropping my pencil, I traced the figures I had drawn with my hand. Perfectly executed on the page were the shapes of the other Girl of the Years. I touched the freckled face of Mickey. The shy eyes of Hen. The braids that framed Bess's face. Loretta, dressed in a leotard that she nearly always wore. Hailey, who patted her pup. Missa and Malari, holding the reins of Missa's little llama. Zia, with the skates I had never seen her wear. There was Maine and Marani. There was Jane, her ballet slippers flipped over her shoulder. There was everyone I knew and lived with. But there was one other girl. A girl I didn't know. A girl I had never ever met. A girl with short hair and bangs and freckles. A girl with a hoodie, and a t-shirt underneath. A girl with striped stockings and boots and a skirt and barrette. Who was this girl? Why had I never seen her before? And would I ever meet her?
Chapter twenty two- Kailey Well, soon, there would be water in the rec room. This would be fun! Chrissa and Sonali grinned happily. "Well," said Jess, "we have cleared up one matter." "Yes," said Lanie. "Let's deal with another!" "Operation Saige will have to wait until she's back from Dallas," pointed out Mia, "but there's still the Marisol problem." We looked at Marisol, who sat with her cat. "Mew?" Rascal asked. That's when Marisol had an epiphany.
Chapter twenty three- Marisol Something clicked. If Rascal had come from the office, what says that my other things aren't there? I explained this to the other girls. "Exactly!" Jess exclaimed. "But," asked Nicki, "how are we going to get into the office?" We all looked at Mia. "I guess I'll try to think of something," she said, grinning. "Yeah!" cried Lanie and Kanani, highfiving. We all smiled, then one by one climbed down from McKenna's bed. But Lanie stopped to grab the cast from McKenna's Cast and Crutches, and climbed back up. I followed her. She untied the splint, and clapped the cast shut onto McKenna's leg. "Good night, McKenna," she whispered, as McKenna drifted off to dreamland, asleep. Then we climbed down. Carrying Rascal, I headed to my room. I reviewed the day as I laid in my bed. I had lost my collection, and McKenna had broken her leg. Then Rascal found me, and we learned that Kenna had simply slipped. And we had a plan for Saige. All in all, I gave the day a six. Maybe tomorrow would be better.
Chapter twenty four- Jess As I slipped under the covers, I thought about how we could retrieve Marisol's things. But it wasn't for me to worry about. Mia would take care of it. I was sure she could find the solution. When she gave us the plan that let us get out to rescue Kailey, the other girls adopted her as official plan maker. I hoped she'd think up a good plan. Finally, I switched off the light, and slowly fell asleep.
Chapter twenty five- Nicki I couldn't sleep. I had been sitting there in that generic old hard bed in those MAG pajamas for ages. Eventually, I decided to check on Mia and see how she was doing. "Mia?" I called quietly, as I opened her door. "Come in," she said, tiredly. I walked into her room and looked at her bed. She wasn't on the mattress, and it was folded up. I walked around it, and she wasn't by the closet. Finally, I arrived on the desk side of Mia's Bedroom Furniture, and lo and behold, sitting in her blue plastic chair, was Mia St. Clair. "Hi," she said. "How's it going?" I asked. "Okay, I guess," Mia replied, yawning. We sat there for a while. Suddenly, Mia shouted, "I've got it!" and started writing away on a sheet of paper. "Mia St. Clair, expert plan-thinker-upper, has thought up another magnificent plan to save us all," I intoned. Mia giggled. Then there was a knock at the door. "What's going on? What's all the racket?" Kanani yawned. "Oh, nothing, it's just Mia thought of a plan," I shrugged. "Not that important, especially if you're tired. She'll show you guys tomorrow." Kanani shook her head. "No, I want to hear it!" she said, sounding *slightly* more alert. I stood up from the floor and went over and unfolded the mattress. I invited Kanani to sit down there with me. She gratefully- and tiredly- agreed. Mia, oblivious to our talking, scribbled away. Suddenly, she stopped. "Hmm, I seem to be out of paper," she noted. We all laughed. Midnight at Mia's was fun.
Chapter twenty six- Mia After we finished our meeting at McKenna's, I rushed home to start up the Dancing Plan. I decided to call it that because Marisol is a dancer. My room was different than the other girls'- it has no closet, because my Bedroom Furniture had one in it. I dug through it, searching for paper. Finally, I found it- a paper pad, with a few pieces left blank. Grabbing a pencil, I sat down at my desk and wrote at the top of the page, "The Dancing Plan." I thought and thought, but couldn't think of anything. I yawned. It had to be pretty late by now. I got up and changed into my pajamas. Time passed, as I racked my brain for thoughts. Then the door creaked open, and I heard the voice of my freckled friend asking, "Mia?" "Come in!" I called, surprised at how tired I sounded. I heard the flipping sounds of Nicki's MAG slippers circling my room. "Hi. How's it going?" she asked. "Okay, I guess..." I replied. "I just can't think of anything!" "Hmm..." thought Nicki. Time passed. Then I got something. I started writing down the Dancing Plan's details. Nicki, giggling, intoned, "Mia St. Clair, expert plan-thinker-upper, has thought up another magnificent plan to save us all!" I laughed, as I flipped the page to add more on the next. Then somebody knocked on the door. "What's going on? What's all the racket?" asked Kanani tiredly. "Oh, nothing, Mia was just thinking up a marvelous plan for Marisol. No biggie, you can go back to bed," said Nicki, shrugging. "No, I'll stay," said Kanani, as she helped Nicki unroll my mattress. I flipped the page again, only to discover that there had been less paper than I thought. "Hmm, I seem to be out of paper," I announced. Everyone giggled. We talked a bit longer. Then Kanani, yawning, bid us goodbye and headed for her room. "Night, Mia," said Nicki, after a moment of silence. "Night, Nicki," I called quietly as she slipped across the hall. After adding a final detail to the Dancing Plan, I paused a second. "Goodnight, Lindsey," I whispered under my breath. Then I fell asleep.
The next morning...
Chapter twenty seven- Chrissa Mia was first to breakfast today. She quickly ate her toast, then told us all to meet her in the laundry room before running out of the dining room. Sonali and Gwen glanced at each other, and shrugged. McKenna, who evidently had found her crutches, slowly came in, with Kanani, yawning, at her side, helping her along. "Mia says to meet her in the laundry room after breakfast," Kailey informed them. "Mm-hmm," said Kanani, but I could tell she wasn't really listening. Marisol quietly bit her toast, her mind elsewhere. Time passed. Some girls went to the laundry room. Others, like me, Jess, Kanani, and McKenna, were still here. Jess was thinking, I assumed. Her brow was furrowed in frustration. McKenna ate her toast slowly, and Kanani, despite having finished her toast already, was waiting for her. Me? I didn't really have an excuse for not going yet. I guess I just wasn't ready for the plan. "Guys?" called Mia from the laundry room. "On my way!" yelled Jess, jumping up from the table and running out of the room. McKenna took the last bite of her breakfast, and with a wince, stood up. She grabbed her crutches immediately. Kanani took her arm and helped her along. I took her other arm, and we walked towards the laundry room, where everyone else was waiting for us.
Chapter twenty eight- Sonali We had been waiting for ages for the other girls to get here. Gwen, Kailey, and Lanie sat on top of some of the washers, glancing at each other impatiently. Mia was in the middle of the room, standing next to the rack of laundry detergent. She held a nearly empty pad of paper. It was almost out of sheets. Finally, Mia yelled, "Guys?" We heard Jess say, "On my way!" and soon, she ran in. She, Nicki, and Marisol pulled themselves up on top of a couple dryers. Soon, we heard footsteps, and quiet thuds. Chrissa and Kanani each held one of McKenna's arms, and she used her crutches to maneuver the three into the laundry room. Then Chrissa and Kanani lifted McKenna onto a dryer, then clambered onto a washer and dryer, respectively. I climbed on a washer next to Chrissa. Gwen was on her other side. Then Mia told us the plan.
Chapter twenty nine- Gwen Mia told us all about her plan. It involved breaking into the office. Jess said we should do it tomorrow night. "Great," said Kanani sarcastically, "more time for the guilt to build up." Nicki shot her a look of daggers. Kanani inched back on her dryer. "Prepare yourselves, girls," Mia said. "We're breaking in." I looked at her. This would be even more dangerous than our escape had been. Was it safe? No. Would I do it? That had yet to be surmised. I got down from the washer and walked out of the room. "Gwen?" I heard Chrissa calling. "Gwen? Gwen!" But I didn't turn around. I walked away, and didn't stop until I reached my room. Then I flopped on my bed. "Ughhh..." I moaned. Were they really going to do that? What if they get caught? And should I really help them?
Chapter thirty- Lanie As we returned to our rooms to get dressed for the day, I thought about Mia's plan. I thought it could work. But I saw how skeptical Gwen seemed. Maybe it wasn't as safe as I thought. Lulu seemed to smile at me as I opened my door. I scooped up the rabbit, and sat down on my bed. Then she wiggled, got free, hopped away, and tugged a piece of paper out from under the nightstand. Shaking my head, I took it away from her. I stared at the paper. It reminded me of times gone by. The paper Lulu had found was a picture of all us GotY's. Pre-Saige. There was McKenna. There was Kanani. There was me, and Sonali, and Gwen. There was Chrissa and Nicki and Mia and Jess and Marisol. There was Kailey. And at the left side, smiling, holding Kailey's hand, was Lindsey Bergman. I wonder what she'd think of what we were doing. She probably wouldn't like it. I sighed, and threw the picture into the closet. I couldn't stand it anymore. I had stood strong for so long, but now it felt like my world was collapsing on top of me. I just let it out. I laid down in my hammock and I cried and I cried.
Chapter thirty one- Kananï Pick. Pick. Pick. Pick. Something had gotten in Barksee's fur. It was an absolute mess. I tried to remove the hard, sticky stuff from the fur of my dog. It was taking forever. Pick. Pick. Pick. Pick. Pick. Pick. Barksee looked at me angrily. He was not amused. "Not my fault you got into something, pal," I said to the seemingly frowning dog. Suddenly the door opened. We looked up. A man in a suit and sunglasses, holding an open animal carrier, entered my room and stormed towards me. I shrank back into the corner. Barksee barked. The man came closer. Barksee and I ducked under a blanket. He ripped the blanket off us, and reached for my dog. I wrapped my arms around Barksee, who whined. The man tore my arms away and lifted Barksee into the carrier. I tried to take it away from him. He wouldn't relent. "Jump, Barksee!" I yelled to my dog, who looked out of the carrier, at least two yards off the ground, anxiously. The man slammed the carrier's door shut. "What are you doing?!?!?" I screamed furiously. He pulled his sunglasses down a bit, and his eye stared out at me. Then he left. "Come back!" I screamed, rushing to the door. He didn't listen. "Barksee!" I yelled, running into the hall. I heard my dog whisper. Then the man walked out the front door. "Barksee," I wept, collapsing on the floor. "Barksee."
Chapter thirty two- McKenna. "McKenna," I heard someone say. I was in a daze. Couldn't see a thing. "McKenna Brooks," the person repeated. "Huh?" I wondered where I was. As the world came into focus, I found myself lying on a bed in the middle of a room as white as fresh snow. A redheaded woman, wearing a bright blue dress, stared down at me. An IV machine beeped. The rest of the room was empty. "Where am I??" I gasped with a start. "McKenna," the woman enunciated, "you are in the hospital." My eyes grew wide. "What?"
Chapter thirty three- Saige I came out of the bathroom, where I had been hiding since the second my interview ended. Otherwise, American Girl assured me, I would be mobbed with fans asking all sorts of questions. "Whew," I sighed. Now that the store was closed, it would be safe. They said they had closed early today so I could catch my flight. Mrs. Mayson showed up, and we headed back to the airport. I couldn't wait to get back, and relax on my bed. But sometimes I wondered what my family was doing. Oh, how I wish American Girl had a store in New Mexico! I've only been a GotY for a couple months, but it seemed like centuries since I had seen my family.
Chapter thirty four- Kailey We found her in the hall. Weeping quietly, on the floor, was Kanani Akina, the girl who had released her sadness only a few months ago. But we knew why she wept. Our pets had been taken away. "Kanani?" asked Lanie, getting down on her friend's level. "He's gone," Kanani sobbed, "Barksee's gone." "Lulu is too," whispered Lanie, a tear trickling down her face. Just then, Jess came out of McKenna's room, looking deathly pale. "Uh, guys?" she said. "McKenna is gone."
Chapter thirty five- Marisol At first, Nicki thought, when Jess said, "McKenna is gone," that she meant last year's GotY had died. She understandably burst into tears. Jess quieted her, explaining what she had meant, and that McKenna was most likely fine. We entered her room. It seemed different than last night. Messier, as if there had been a struggle. But then Gwen saw something that would shock us all. "A tranquilizer dart."
Chapter thirty six- Jess We silently returned to Mia's room. There we sat, thinking, for hours, until finally, we got up to get lunch. Only ten girls would sit at the table today, instead of the normal twelve. Saige, we knew where was- Dallas, for an interview. But McKenna? I couldn't tell you. We sat down. A few minutes later, our dishes slid out, shoved by the lunch lady. That's when I burst. "Where is she?" I yelled as the lunch lady began to step away. She came back to the window. "Say what?" she asked. "Where's McKenna?" I asked, a bit loudly. "What're you asking me for?" she asked. "You're the only adult we have access to!" Lanie yelled from the far end. The lunch lady sighed. "Dears," she said, "I believe your friend is in the hospital."
Chapter thirty seven- Nicki The hospital? Didn't Jess say yesterday that they refused to take her there? I stared at the lunch lady in confusion. Sonali and Gwen eyed each other across the table. "The hospital?" Kailey asked. I looked down the table. Everyone was staring at each other and the lunch lady- except Marisol. She gobbled down her food like there was no tomorrow. This was weird. Marisol was no pig. She never ate like that. Something was up. The lunch lady sighed and walked away. "Wait!" cried Lanie, but she didn't return. We looked at each other. Finally, Kanani said, "Well, I suppose we should eat now!" Mia laughed, and Chrissa picked up her fork. And slowly, our lunch disappeared.
Chapter thirty eight- Mia Lunch was over. We started to return to our rooms. Marisol ran to catch Kailey's hand. Kailey spun around in shock, and relaxed when she saw the face of her friend. Marisol whispered something in Kailey's ear. Kailey gasped, and gave the dancer a look of quizzical astonishment. Marisol whispered something else. Kailey's eyes grew wide, and they ran to Kailey's room. What was up here? Nicki, struggling with her doorknob, gave me a look. She had noticed too. "Come over," she called, as her door burst open. I came over to her room. We sat down and told each other what we had seen. I knew it was true. Marisol was not herself. But why?
Chapter thirty nine- Chrissa I walked into my room. No llama came to greet me. They had taken Starburst away. They had taken Barksee away. They had taken Sandy and Lulu and Sprocket away. What was it for? Why did they take them away? They had done nothing. I vowed to get them back. No matter what. They had to come home.
Chapter thirty nine- Sonali Gwen and I looked at each other. We were in McKenna's doorway, staring at her room. Gwen walked in. She stood there a minute, looking around. Then suddenly, she collapsed to the ground. "Gwen?" I asked, worried. No response. "Gwen? Gwen! GWEN!!!"
Chapter forty- Gwen After the pet thing, and finding Kanani there in the hall, crying, we knew we had to do something. But what? Sonali and I studied McKenna's room from the doorway. I stepped in to look some more. Suddenly, in a flash of copper, I felt a piercing pain in my ankle. It surged up my body. I fell towards the floor, unable to stop myself. "Gwen?" I heard a voice say. "Gwen? Gwen- gwen....." Then- darkness...
Chapter forty one- Lanie Sonali appeared suddenly at my door with fear in her eyes. "Gwen," she whispered. It was all she said. But I knew something had happened. "Show me," I told her. She led me to McKenna's doorway, and pointed in, but she looked away. Gwen lay motionless on the floor. I was shocked. "What happened here?" I asked Sonali. "I don't know... I just don't know... She walked in... She stood there... She collapsed..." Sonali began to cry. I patted her back. I knew the feeling. What would I think, if something happened to Dakota or Kanani? I'd be wailing for sure. But then, I thought, Gwen needs us. Something happened. We need to find out what. I went into the room. I approached Gwen. Her breathing seemed shallow. I crouched down beside her, then suddenly I saw- on her ankle, two marks piercing the skin. Snakebite.
Chapter forty two- Kananï Barksee. Barksee. Barksee. Barksee. I wailed in sadness. I wanted Barksee back. I love my dog. I miss him soooo much. Barksee. "Barksee!!!"
Chapter forty three- McKenna The hospital: it's white, and huge, and cold. Very cold. I stared into the bleached walls. I have seen nothing. Everything is the same. Suddenly, someone in a mask and lab coat- lab coat? That's weird...- came in. He ripped the sheet off me and yanked on my legs. I screamed and screamed and screamed. Then he smacked me. Hard.
Chapter forty four- Saige The taxi pulled up to the GotY building. Mrs. Mayson and I climbed out and headed in. She stopped at the front desk and signed me in. Then she ushered me through the doors. Clutching my art pad, I stepped back into the hall. Glancing into the kitchen, I found that I'd missed lunch. No one was in the rec or laundry rooms. Then, I saw Loretta's open door. Maybe she could tell me who the girl I had drawn was. I came to the doorway, and dropped my art pad in shock. There were Maine and Malari, kneeling over Hen, unconscious on the floor. Loretta? She was nowhere to be seen. A shiver crept up my spine. "What happened here?!?"
Chapter forty five- Kailey Marisol took me in my room. She pointed at the bed, and I sat. I feel like a dog. She stared at me. Marisol's stares can penetrate to the core. "Kailey," she said finally. "You remember last fall?" "Well, of course! I could never forget that." "Kailey, they want you out of here. When the next girl comes, you're history." History. I'm already ten years out of date. I really don't want to die on top of it. "Okay," I said. "What's your plan?"
Chapter forty six- Marisol I had thought about this for a very long time. Ever since AG removed Lindsey from the equation, I've been wondering about the older GotY's's safety. When Kailey was kidnapped, I knew their plan. They'd already stopped selling me, Kailey, Lindsey, and Jess's books. I saw where this was going. Get rid of the older GotY's, keep only those the target age remembers. Sure, the target age wasn't born yet when Lindsey and Kailey were for sale. But still. And now that Lindsey's room was Saige's, I knew what this building was coming to. Next year, Kailey would be gone. They'd give her room to GotY 2014. I can't let that happen. One friend gone is enough. After much thought, I decided that the only way was this. "Kailey, you'll be gone next year if AG has their way. They have this room that we're in right now booked for GotY 2014. But I know how you can escape your fate- move in with me. Then we'll have all of 2014 safe from that danger," I told her. Kailey stared through the wall and dove into deep thought. "Well?" I asked. She looked at the floor, then back at me. "Fine,” the 2003 GotY whispered.
Chapter forty seven- Jess Mia and Nicki were sitting on Nicki's bed together, quietly discussing the plan. I stood in the corner, listening. But I had different things on my mind. Like, where was McKenna? Was she really in a hospital? Why did they take the pets away? And what was that scream? Wait- SCREAM?!?!? Nicki, looking confused, glanced around the room, looking for the source of the sound. "Did you hear a scream?" Mia asked. "Uh, yeah!" Nicki said, getting up. "It sounded like Sonali..." I thought. "Did anyone hear what she said?" Nicki asked. "I heard it," said Mia gravely. "'Gwen.'"
Chapter forty seven- Nicki "'Gwen.'" The word echoed through our minds like an evil omen. Sonali, screaming the name of her best friend. What had possibly happened? And why hadn't Chrissa heard it? Jess grabbed a pad of paper, while Mia nabbed a pencil. I opened the door of my room, and the three of us marched out, intent on investigating. Sonali's room- empty of people. The same at Gwen's, and Lanie's too. Where were they? Then we heard, from McKenna's room, Lanie's voice, intoning one single terrible word- "Snakebite."
Chapter forty eight- Mia Snakebite. How on earth did a snake, of all things, get in here? But how a snake got in this building wasn't important now. I had things I needed to know- was the snake poisonous? How long ago had Gwen been bitten? Was she all right? Just then, Saige came in the front door, back from Dallas. She looked like she was looking for someone. She saw McKenna's door wide open and ran to it. Then we heard the splatting sound of her art pad dropping. "What happened here?" Saige asked, astonished. I ran to see the details. "Hey! Wait for me!" called Nicki, but there was no turning back. There I saw it all. Sonali, under McKenna's bed, looking so nervous I thought she would burst. Lanie, crouching down by Gwen's side. And Gwen, laying flat on the floor. I came in the room. Gwen seemed still. She was alive. We should be thankful for that. But would she stay that way?
Chapter forty nine- Chrissa I'm sure hours have passed. I was so busy writing out my plan to save the pets that I hardly noticed the sounds, like Sonali's scream, a tramping of running feet, a slamming door, and the flapping pages of a dropping art pad, until it could almost be too late. But I didn't hear, or I didn't pay attention, or I just didn't care. I couldn't have realized what this meant- to Sonali, to Mia, to Saige, and most of all, to Gwen.
Chapter fifty- Sonali Saige dropped her art pad in shock at the sight. Mia rushed to the scene, while Nicki and Jess were close behind her. Lanie sat by poor Gwen. Me, I just huddled under McKenna's loft bed. Staring. Staring at Gwen. My best friend.
Chapter fifty one- Gwen The floor. I was certain I was on the floor. I heard the worried voices of the others around me. I wanted to respond- but I couldn't. I couldn't move, couldn't see, couldn't talk. I could hear them. "A snake??? Where???" I heard Nicki cry nervously. I heard someone on McKenna's loft bed's ladder climbing up quickly- probably Nicki. "I really don't know," Lanie admitted. Great. Just great. That snake could be anywhere. What if he comes back? What if he bites somebody else?! What if he bites me again?!? I felt like panicking, or running away screaming. But I couldn't. And I really wish I could.
The next day...
Chapter fifty two- Lanie Yesterday, Gwen was bitten by a snake. I still can hardly believe it. Jess had told an adult. The adult had hurried to McKenna's room. "Mrs. Mayson?!?!?" Saige had asked, bewildered. Mrs. Mayson shooed us all out, except Sonali. She hadn't seen Sonali. Then she picked up Gwen and headed to the office. We all sat nervously in the hall. "Is that a siren?" Nicki asked, as the blaring noise filled our ears. Sure enough, an ambulance pulled up. Mrs. Mayson and someone else came out of the office, along with Gwen, who they carried. They went outside. We tried to look, but we couldn't. After about fifteen minutes, the adults came back- Gwenless.
Chapter fifty three- Kananï Gwen was gone. McKenna was gone. Barksee and all of the pets were gone. This is just WONDERFUL. "It's not that great, Kanani." That's what you're saying. And here's what I have to say to you about it: CAN'T YOU TELL SARCASM?? Then Chrissa called me. And all that turned upside down.
Chapter fifty four- McKenna Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. The IV machine continuously beeped, never ceasing. All was the same. Nothing changed at all. That is, until Gwen came. Then all this turned upside down.
Chapter fifty five- Saige Unbeknownst to us, Malari had spent all night in Loretta's room. In the morning, we received an uncouth and very unexpected wakeup call- the sound of Malari screaming, "Snake! SNAKE!!!" And our morning turned upside down.
Chapter fifty six- Kailey Marisol wanted me to move in before the month ended. So each night was another night I'd never have back, another night closer to moving in with Marisol. I went to bed last night completely unaware of what happened to Gwen. But this morning, I was jerked awake by Sonali's screams of, "Snake! SNAKE!!!" I ran from my room barefooted, not even bothering to slip on the MAG slippers waiting near the bed. Where was she? Saige, across the hall, came out, looking tired and slightly annoyed. We hurried down the hall, being joined by Jess, Mia, and Lanie along the way. Sonali wasn't in her room, or Gwen's room either. "SNAKE!!!!" she shrieked. It turned out she was still in McKenna's room. We ran in. The snake hissed from the floor, near the spot, they told me, where Gwen had fallen yesterday. Sonali sat, eyes wide in fear, on the top of McKenna's loft bed, as far away as she could get from it. Lanie gasped. "A copperhead," she whispered in shock. Sonali looked like she was going to faint. And then, she did.
That's everything I have written so far, except for the first twenty chapters that I already posted.
