So I had kinda stopped writing AG stories, cause I'm really not that good at it, but with The Announcement,I wanted to write something. So here it is. Part one (part two will be here later)

Ruthie and I have been best friends since forever. For the last few years, we’ve been living at Innerstar U, with all the current MAG’s, the other current Historicals, and the Girl of the Year- right now it was Isabelle. Last year we said goodbye to Molly and Emily. They no longer lived here. I don’t know where they went, and I’m not entirely sure I want to. It has been a long accepted custom that a best friend would be archived alongside the main character, as Emily was with Molly. So Ruthie and I found no reason to fear of separation all these years. But on Tuesday, the workers gathered all of us Historicals together. They almost never did this, except at the standard release dates, when they gathered the whole population of Innerstar U to see the new items. It wouldn’t be the standard summer release day for a month yet, so we found this rather curious. As we took our seats in the auditorium, we looked toward the stage. There was a worker, and a brunette girl about our age. Whispers started rising amongst us. “Kit!” Ruthie whispered to me. “Look at her!” I gasped, as the girl looked out toward us. “Is that… Samantha?” “Nah, couldn’t be. She doesn’t have the big bow,” Ruthie joked, and we giggled. The employee tapped his microphone, getting all our attention. “Welcome Historicals. I’m sure you’re all wondering why you’ve been gathered here today. First off, yes, this is Samantha. But we’ll get to her later.” “Oh, it is Samantha!” Ruthie gasped. “But before that, we have some bad news. As you all know, we said goodbye to Samantha in 2008. Last year, we said goodbye to Molly and Emily. This year, we also will have some farewells.” The crowd gasped. The loudest came from Addy, sure he meant her, as she was the oldest Historical left. “This year, we will be saying goodbye to…” he stalled, prolonging the suspense. “All of our Best Friends.” Ruthie looked at me, horrified. “WHAT?” screeched Ivy from across the room. “Cecile, Marie-Grace, Ruthie, and Ivy. You have served us well, but now it is time to say farewell. Cecile and Marie-Grace collapsed into each other, sobbing. “And for the rest of you, a new beginning for the Historical line will be coming this fall! Instead of The Historical Collection, you will be known as BeFoever.” “That’s a stupid name. What’s wrong with being the Historicals?” Caroline whispered to Rebecca. “There will be changes in your books, some new items in your collections. But this biggest change is this: the return of Samantha.” Samantha gazed back out at us, the girls she had known and loved for so long until that fateful day five years ago. “What is she wearing?” someone asked. “Oh, that’s her new dress!” the worker replied cheerily. The crowd blinked, and then some of us burst into laughter. “That’s not for her! That’s not from her era! That’s more of a nineties revamp of Victorian fashion than actual early twentieth century clothes!” Julie exclaimed, laughing. The worker rolled his eyes “Go on,” he whispered, pushing Samantha closer to the microphone. Samantha looked down at her hands nervously, then spoke. “H-hi everyone. It’s me, Samantha. I know some of you never met me, and I’m sure the others have told you about me, but now you have the chance to. I-I’m very excited to be returning to American Girl, and get the chance to be loved by hundreds of girls again. But as you can see, Nellie’s not here. They’re not letting her come. They’re getting rid of her entire line.” “Hey! That isn’t in the script! Stop that!” the employee hissed at her. She ignored him, finally finding her footing. “I think this is an absurd and ridiculous decision by American Girl! Probably thousands of girls have loved our Besties for years. Not everyone has been able to get a doll of the Best Friend she’s admired for so long! And worst of all, we’ll be separated,” she said, her bold voice cracking on that last word. “Excuse me,” she whispered, running backstage. The employee sighed, and took the microphone. “Well, that’s all fine and good, but it can’t change anything. The order has already been put in place. Stock is dwindling. The announcement has been made. If those people Samantha mentioned want to buy a Best Friend, they have a limited time to do it. But aren’t you excited for BeForever?” Girls grumbled, shaking their heads and muttering about how much they hated American Girl sometimes. “Well, that’s all. You may return to your rooms.” We started getting up. “Oh, and Best Friends.” Ruthie and the others looked up at him, sadness and anger in their eyes. “You should start getting packed.” Marie-Grace, who had stopped crying, burst into tears again and ran out the door. “Gracie! Wait!” called Cecile, rushing after her. Ruthie sighed and slowly shuffled toward the door. I hung back with her, as the others slowly exited the auditorium. “It’s okay, Ruthie,” I tried, but she interrupted me. “No, Kit! It’s not okay! I don’t want this to happen! I- I don’t want to leave you... I don’t want to be on my own...” A tear ran down her face. “I don’t either. But we’ll find a way to stay in contact! Don’t worry. I won’t ever forget you. You’re my best friend since forever.” She sniffled, and hugged me. We left the room.
